Maternal and Newborn Success: A Q&A Review Applying Critical Thinking to Test Taking (Davis's Q&a Success)

This is my 4th Davis Success book and they are great study tools, I had no complaints until this one. This book is riddled with contradictory rationale answers. For example, it will tell me that A&B are wrong at the top of the rationale and within the explanation say A&B are correct. Very difficult to study that way. I don't know who proofed this book but it is sub-standard for Davis and I'm very disappointed.

being a male in nursing this subject required extra studying for myself at least. This definitely helped ! I need questions in order to study. Made a 67 one test and came back 2 weeks and hit a 90 the next. So definitely worth the money !

I have enjoyed other books in the Success series and found them helpful, but this book has so many obvious errors in the answer key that I can't trust this as a study resource. Given the life and death nature of nursing, the poor editing is quite shocking. Some of the questions themselves are thought provoking but with limited time to study, I can't waste time sifting through sloppy answer keys.

I purchased this as an additional study aid for my OB course. I studied the questions that correlated with the content from class and often times there would be a question either from this book or a similar question on exams. This book is worth every penny and I did fairly well in this course! I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to do well in the course and wants to have an additional way to study for exams.

I have used the Davis success books throughout nursing school and really found them helpful. This book however, has a lot of errors and I’m not sure if the information is reliable to help with the course or prepare for NCLEX or the HESI. For example, a question that isn’t a select all that applies, the book gives you two answers and says that they are correct but the rationale contradict the answer.

The book itself was great and I found it very helpful, but I rented this and there was writing EVERYWHERE inside of the book in pen, marker, and pencil. This typically doesn't bother me, but when it is a Q&A book and all the answers are circled in something you can't erase, it is very hard to test yourself! I erased all the pencil marks, which helped a little, but the majority of the writing was either pen or marker, so I had to try to cover up the circled answers while testing myself. One thing that I noticed was odd, was that sometimes the incorrect answer was circled... If you see this review on the pediatric version of this book, it is because I rented both of these books at the same time and both had this problem. :/

I debated buying this after seeing previous reviews but decided that surely the book and been corrected...The answer sections gives several answers when there is only one. The answer section is incorrect, basically. So, the rationales do not make sense.

If you are taking an rn ob course, you HAVE to get this book. It is the most helpful book for the class beside ATI.
