Q: Has anyone bought repeaters from multiple brands to compare? I don't want to waste money just pick one to eliminate the wifi dead zone in my house.

I've had only one other one, and this one kicks its butt big time. This booster is inside my steel workshop. The router is a good 100 feet away inside my concrete-block house. The booster takes that whisper of a signal and blasts it up to 5 bars. I highly recommend it!

Q: Could I use this on my boat ? the marina internet signal is weaker on our dock.

The unit will not know or care whether it's in a boat. What's important is distance from the signal. I am a good 100 feet from my router which is inside my concrete-block house. The booster is inside my steel-sided workshop. It takes that whisper of a signal from the house and turns it into 5 bars. I'd bet that if you're detecting a signal at all, this little booster will grab the ball and run with it!
