Praxis I Math
I was tempted to go for the Kaplan but a classmate referred me to this even though it was a bit more expensive but she said it was worth it. This book was extremely helpful in that it helped me to review the subjects I was weak in. Also the assessment test at the beginning of the book helped me identify a couple of my weak spots that I forgot about (it’s been a while since I’ve looked at roots & triangles!) and to help me to re-learn them without having to use a textbook. I liked how the book was straight to the point and gave me a lot of practice. I didn’t finish all the sections in the book (did about three quarters), but it helped me review the areas I needed. There was a good variety of problem types and if you learn by doing problems, this is the book to get!

Awesome book
After several years of teaching English in a private school, I decided to switch to teaching at a public school, which necessitated passing the Praxis I test. Problem: I had forgotten my math from high school. To resolve this problem, I searched for books on the math portion of the Praxis I exam. Problem: I couldn't find any. Until I found Praxis I Math: My Private Tutor. This book offered me a lot for my money. It covered all the material on the real Praxis test. Some of the material was hard for me, but I persisted, and eventually everything clicked, as the explanations are excellent. There are also enough problems to give me the practice that I badly needed. I can confirm that the errors commented on by other reviewers have been fixed.

... book is okay for teaching you some basic review like fractions or geometric figures
This book is okay for teaching you some basic review like fractions or geometric figures, but to be honest a lot of what they cover you won't see on the actual Praxis. I was disappointed in it.

A guide that needs an English Tutor
While this book provided a solid review structure for the Praxis exam your money is better spent elsewhere. There are numerous errors that could have been avoided if the authors would have proof read the book. Question #19 of the assessment test, which is available for free on the books website, has an grammatical error that makes the question unanswerable because a key adverb is omitted. The explanations are confusing and not helpful. They do not completely explain the process needed to complete the examples. This book provides a structure for the Praxis tests but that is all. I have learned more from free you tube Videos and an old college textbook then I have from this book. Take their free test and see where your weaknesses are. Or buy another guide.

Passed with the use of this book
I tutored a teacher who needed to pass her Praxis Math Exam in order to continue teaching. She was using another book that had a bunch of errors in it. Using that other book, she took the exam multiple times without passing. Using this book, she passed with a high grade. Her passing had very little to do with me since we met only a few times. It had a lot to do with this book, I believe. I am very grateful that a teacher with such a loving heart will be able to continue teaching, in part at least, because she used this book.

Super Test Prep!
this is a excellent prep book if you need a serious refresher like I did. If you have had a college math course recently, it might be more than you need, but I have been out of math classes for about 8 years and needed the complete recap. If your not sure if you need to refresh any particular area it is a good book for that too, It covers everything! It also has good assessment tests. It gives easy to understand explanations and lots of practice exercises.
