Just buy your own craft materials and make up your own challenges
For £40, I have to say I'm really disappointed by this Ultimate Inventor Kit. My son is almost 5 and really enjoys practical play so I thought this would be perfect for him. This kit has a booklet with 8 challenges e.g. build a swing and then using the resources create something to make a swing but I would really have liked some suggestions or ideas of what they could actually use to it do rather than just leave it completely up to them with no help at all. While it says you get over 275 building materials they are counting every lolly stick, every pompom, every sheet of paper, every googly eye etc individually but then you still need basic things like glue, scissors etc. Some of the challenges are easier than others e.g. making a shelter or designing a mask whereas designing a board game will take a lot more thought. I do like that they add on bigger challenges if they manage the first e.g. adding a slide to the swing and remaking your board game using your back garden as the game board. I just don't see how a parent couldn't gather a load of craft materials together for far less and make up their own challenges - I don't see £40 worth of value in this box.

Priced Unreasonably But Otherwise a Very Good CRAFT Set
This is a review for the Ultimate Inventor Toolkit Age 5+. I wanted to make that clear, because the same brand do an almost identically packaged set which is suited for age 8+.I wouldn't call this an Ultimate Inventor Toolkit as much as I would an Ultimate CRAFT Kit.It contains the usual fare as seen in any craft kit:8 x Wooden clothes pegs10 x Googly eyes20 x Velcro dots15 x little pom poms15 x slightly larger glitter pom poms10 x Paper straws3 x Rolls of tape3 x bunches of embroidery thread10 x wooden dowels6 x wooden wheels5 x Sheets of craft paper75 x Wooden lollipop sticks (two sizes)10 x Short plastic cups - similar to takeaway sauce cups1 x Design card with a marker pen10 x feathers5 x felt sheets3 x Foam sticker sheets20 x little glue dotsThe real value is in the included full colour instruction manual which is nicely laid out with a number of craft activities to attempt using the included accessories. Each one broken into manageable stages with images to appeal to the younger artist. But, is the current price of just over £40 enough to warrant the true value of this set?No, very likely not. Unless there is a sudden shortage of craft equipment this Christmas. And besides, I'm no expert, but I'm almost certain that most craft books are close to a quarter of this price. I'm hoping the price will drop down, as otherwise, it isn't a bad set. Just priced unreasonably.3 stars

Over-priced bundle of arts and crafts items.
Over-priced bundle of Arts and Crafts products. This is 100% not worth paying £50 for. If you look at the list of items included, everything is cheap stuff you can get at the pound shop for under £15.If you’re looking for a bundle because you don’t want to buy things separately, supermarkets sell Arts and Crafts bundles that include the vast majority of items in this box for around £15 as well. Not worth it at all.

A fun set to get children's creativity flowing
This learning resources ultimate inventor tool kit is a perfect set of activities and challenges ideal for the colder months now the dark nights and cold weather is here , its a good idea to get young children's minds ticking and learning at the same time , it's also a great way to spend some quality time together working through the different activities and challenges. You get a lot of craft materials in the box , there are building challenges based on real life engineering projects, its a good introduction into building , solving problems , logic and being practical at the same time. The craft materials you get in the set could be bought yourself from pound shops or art suppliers if you run out, you could always buy more supplies and do the challenges again , or get some ideas for some different projects of your own.I like sets like this as it is a good way to keep children entertained indoors during the winter , adults will also enjoy getting involved too.In the set you get 280 building materials, 10 building activities and an activity guide. It's a good set to get children's creative minds flowing , they can then experiment with their own ideas and create their own inventions, I remember doing similar activities to this in junior school and i always enjoyed it.It makes a nice change from consoles and screens.

Nice set , but pricey.
This is a lovely set, comes with everything you need to create. The quality is great and the idea sheet is great for inspiration. It is a bit pricey in my eyes but does come all together ready to go which is a bonus.

Very overpriced for what you get
A great set of tools for endless inventions for children. You get a variety of craft type items and a little book for guidance and facts. All very lovely and my son enjoyed doing this but way over priced for what you get. I understand you get a book but you can probably get most of the items for less than £15 max.
