Gnarly Joe Complexion Booster. Skin Toner Face Serum for Men with Squalane, 50ml (Spearmint and Lavender)

I love these Gnarley Joe face oils.Works really well on my skin.I’ve tried to find a cheaper alternative but there isn’t one, Gnarley Joe is the best!

Lots of times I wonder whether I will buy something once a trial of it has run out, in this case it is a definite yes.Starting on the right foot straight away with it's ethically sourced ingredients there's nothing about this product that I don't like. From the package design to the quality feel of the bottle and dropper and that's before I had even tried it – plus you get a sticker, everyone like stickers!I have the Spearmint and Lavender version and on opening the bottle the scent is quite exhilarating. Again the presentation - the bottle neck has a grommet in so the dropper tube cleans itself when removing it so that none of the precious, precious serum is lost dripping where it shouldn't drip.Just 3 drops on your hands rubbed together to warn the liquid then massaged into your face is enough to make you feel pretty fantastic on it's own never mind what it's doing to your skin in the meantime. It feels really nice going on not greasy or anything like that. Three drops from this bottle means it's going to last ages.I started using it in the morning at first after my morning wake up routine and it really set me up for the day.But I have since started using it last thing at night instead and every morning my skin feels pretty nice and I have honestly noticed less blemishes in the week I have been using it, I think my skin was a little dry which strangely sometimes resulted in a few blackheads in the morning even at my age and this has put paid to them it seems, I expected the opposite if truth be told.I like it so much I'm wondering if using it both morning and night might be too much it really does feel that good.Either way when this runs out I'll definitely be buying another bottle especially as I also fancy trying the Lemon & Lavender version.

I've tried a lot of Joe's moisturisers and this one is my least favourite. The smell of this oil is not pleasant after half an hour of being applied on the skin - it has a very strong oil smell (similar to cooking oil)I'll stick to the face serum as that is fantastic!

I routinely use facial serum in my skincare regime after cleansing and before moisturising. I've tried many times to encourage my partner to use skincare but I guess you could say he's 'unreconstructed' and simply doesn't remember to use it a lot of the time.Gnarly Joe is a great name, isn't it? My partner is a little gnarly admittedly but perhaps after using this serum regularly he will be transformed into some smooth skinned Adonis. Serums are kind of like facial toners once were and have a slightly astringent feel.The Lemon and Lavender fragrance is invigorating and smells great. With a glass angled dropper and glass bottle it's easy to measure out 2-4 drops into your palms then apply the product to your face, massaging it in but avoiding the eyes. It is easily absorbed and non-greasy, my partner tells me - and feels very moisturising. His skin felt softer after application.This product is registered with The Vegan Society, is not tested on animals and is a blend of plant oils and botanicals. One thing it does contain is cold pressed, filtered hazelnut oil so if you have allergy concerns you may wish to check with your GP before using this. It also contains Squalane, a non-animal derivative and pure olive extract.At £25 at time of writing for a 50ml bottle, this was comparable to the price of serums aimed at women. At this early stage, I can't say for sure whether this Complexion Booster from Gnarly Joe will have a positive, long lasting impact on my partner's skin - but I think anything that encourages men to take care of their skin is a good thing - and I do like the purity of this brand's ingredients.

The face serum is packed away in a branded box that has loads of interesting information on, It really shows that a lot of thought has gone into it.The serum is located in a 50ml glass bottle with a threaded pipette for dispensing, I use the serum after a shower in the morning, I found it actually takes 4-6 drops in the palm of my hand to cover my face, I use the excess to rub on the back of my hands as they do get dry this time of year, so that’s a bonus for me, it absorbs well and smells lovely going on, depending on how much I use I can feel a light layer on my face through the day that leaves it feeling hydrated and soft.I really like that the ingredients are 100% natural and include:Hazelnut Oil, Coconut Oil, Squalane (100% Pure Olive Extract), Vitamin E Plant Seed Oil, Lemon Essential Fruit Oil, Lavender Essential Plant Oil. ... Sorry, the packaging is nice, you get a free sticker, and sharing a name with the product gives me probably unconscious bias towards it. I've used it daily for a week, replacing my usual face moisturiser. My face hasn't liked the change, but that is probably my fault. The other thing is, when I was a boy, my mum got into the old aromatherapy, and some 30 years later I still remember that it mostly smelt like geranium. Got to be honest, this smelt like geranium to me too. If it works for other people out there, good luck to them and bless your skin, but I'm afraid I'll not be one of them.
