The Ultimate Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook: The Essential Culinarian Guide to Hydaelyn

We've already cooked at least one recipe from this book so far and it was amazing. Great book! Highly recommend and it came in perfect condition!

This has some really good looking food and recipes

The positive: If you love Final Fantasy and more importantly, Final Fantasy 14, the book is lush and lovingly written in terms of lore. It is a cookbook written from the perspective of two residents of Hydaelyn, a moogle and a namazu, as they travel the world, enjoying food and try to "recreate" the foods they enjoy in the form of the recipes found in this book. Very charming!The recipes are also rather good if not necessarily the stuff I might normally stock in my pantry and the instructions are usually good--with one BIG EXCEPTION.The Bacon Bread recipe. A warning. It says it "2 cups ground mustard". Obviously, anyone who regularly cooks would know that two cups of dry/ground mustard is an absolutely, ridiculous amount of mustard to add to a recipe. They almost certainly want you to used a prepared mustard (as in the condiment). It's likely an error that made it past editing, but based on the image of Bacon Bread in the book they want you to use a whole grain mustard, stone ground mustard...Some variety of prepared mustard that has visible mustard seeds in it.

That's a good thing you can purchase if you love cooking. Even if you don't, you should try. Yummy! There are A LOT of recipes in this book, Ignis would love to have one

I have tried a number of recipes in the book and they create yummy food. Getting some of the ingredients can be problematic in the United States.

The first thing I will say is that most of the recipes do pay homage to Final Fantasy XIV culinary job. I am a fan of all the recipes. Some of the recipes I felt should not have been renamed. The book binding is very strong and the hard cover makes it less likely to bend the cover. I opted to put a book protector over it. he pages feel like textbook paper. Not easy to rip but still handle with care. Easy to rip if you are not careful. That being said, if you were to splash sauce or something on it while cooking you may not be able to get this out. The nice thing it has is the pictures. You at least have something to compare it to. That being said, this does make the book thicker due to less recipes per page. The pictures are well taken so you get some color and liveliness to the book. The fonts and instructions are on one page while the picture is on the other. It is side to side. The font is not too small or big. I would say it is a little bigger than textbook font. That being said, it may not be the best for visually impaired. Even though the book is hard cover, this book arrived with some nicks on the corner. The recipes are pretty easy to follow as they are not very long. There are SEVERAL recipes to follow. The recipes are very easy to make. What I really enjoy is the small final fantasy characters that are printed on different pages. It is like World of Final Fantasy character models. The food is very delicious if you follow the instructions. For the most part, this is a great way to make different meals throughout the week. I would say the recipe will feed a party of two. If you happen to go beyond two you may need to alter the recipe a bit. Cook times may also vary based on the recipe. Some recipes are easy while others are not. You can tell that most of the recipes are just your usual cook book recipes renamed. I did not really not enjoy the renames of some of them. Overall the book has decent recipes. The recipe difficulty varies but the instructions are easy to follow. The book does have tons of pictures which is a great homage to the video game. The names of the recipes are pretty much the same as what you see in the game (although some were renamed). I really love making coffee biscuits ...in the game and in the kitchen. The book is solid and I do not see it wearing down too soon.

This is a good cook book in general, as a section on mixed drinks. love all the FF14 theming. If you like cooking and like ff14 you will like this.

I am absolutely happy with this purchase, the book arrived unscratched and well protected. All the recipes bring back memories from all this time playing FF14 and a smile to my face. Definitely a great purchase, completely recomended! Let's raise our Culinarian level to the max! (and do the Extreme trials within ;) )

The book arrived way ahead of schedule, and arrived in perfect condition. True to the other comments, the recipes were pretty common for some, but the design and immersive way they wrote the book makes you feel Eorzean for a change. The binding seems a bit fragile though, so I'll be taking photos of the recipes into my kitchen while the book can stay on the shelf. Time to make me some popoto salad!

What a nice book!! Love how the recipes are organized and how beautiful and accurate the pictures are, both about how the dishes are supposed to look to how they look in the game's icons!! Five stars!!

El libro es tal y lo que vende, viene con varias recetas de diferente dificultad basada en los platillos que podrían existir en el mundo de FFXIV. Si no cocinan mínimo el libro es muy bonito.
