Good steel terrible striker.
Not very good. The steel is ok but the striker is completely garbage. So what good is the steel without a striker.. atleast I have the steel.

I have a couple of these. One in my survival kit,and I carry one when I'm in the woodsweather I'm hunting ,hiking or whatever . I have never had to use this item ,but have tried them , to makesure that I know how to use them in case of an emergency.cotton balls with a little petroleum jelly on them work very well, as a good fuel source or pocket lint work extremely well also.

The trick here is to not strike quickly but to draw the steel s l o w l y across the other surface and you bet big fat sparks!
