outstanding book
Simple to understand. Highly informative. Excellent foundation of polyvagal. In my experience there are easier ways to return to ventral vagal (energy psychology) and stay there more consistently, but theory-wise this book is fantastic

Cured my PTSD symptoms!
I'm not even halfway through this book and it has already changed my life. This is not an exaggeration! I suffered from work induced PTSD with hives preventing me from working. Following the directions, I immediately eliminated the hives and I'm able to work again symptom free. There are many other benefits as well, but this immediate result is shocking and appears to be permanent.

One of the most practical books I’ve read on understanding my nervous system without the overwhelm
This book helped me understand my stress responses in a way that actually made sense. "Anchored" breaks down polyvagal theory without making it feel clinical or overwhelming. It’s more like having a guide walk you through what’s happening in your body and how to work with it. If you’ve ever felt stuck in fight, flight, or freeze and didn’t know why, this gives you language and tools to reconnect with yourself. It’s practical and gentle.

I love this book about the Polyvagal theory
Most often we repeat the same actions, thoughts and feelings over and over again. Even when things are bad. This book will help you understand how you free yourself from this imbalance in your nervous system and how you can grow into a true balanced you.

Phenomenal
This books is so accessible and gave me a lot of tools. If you’ve read “The Body Keeps Score” I always recommend this as a more accessible (less clinical, and less heavy) follow-up!

Essential reading for people living with CPTSD
This book was mentioned in an article I read about complex PTSD. While I've been living with it a long time, I'm only newly seeking resources to help me manage it and this book became a fast favorite. Looking at things from the perspective of the nervous system shed light on physical reactions that I'd been enduring for ages without realizing what was happening. The exercises in this book helped me identify when my body is automatically going into "survival mode," and offers practical exercises to learn how to better listen to my nervous system and do breathwork/meditate/bodywork to help me cope and establish better habits overall in understanding how old trauma continues to affect me. This book is an essential resource on my healing journey.
