Pool Skimmer Arm - Aboveground and Inground Swimming Pool Skimmer

I was skeptical at first about purchasing this product after reading a few negative reviews, but so glad that I did my homework. We bought a backyard pool so we could hop in at a moment’s notice but HATED the fact that there was 15 minutes worth of cleaning to net the surface debris off before I could swim without bugs in my hair! Last summer we purchased a similar product, can’t remember the name but know it was yellow, and found it was very difficult to fit into our skimmer opening and it broke 3 weeks after we installed it. ( Might have been my fault, because I didn’t take it out every time we swam, but didn’t want to have to fuss with putting it back in everytime I got out). Anyway, the idea was great but I was looking for something easier when I found the skimmerarm for sale online. I read the reviews and ended up tracking down the manufacturer and called them to ask some questions. The person I talked to was very helpful and said that the company had redesigned the part that holds it in place and were not using foam any longer, so I figured it was worth a try. SO GLAD that I did. We were absolutely thrilled with how easy it was to get into (and out of) the skimmer. Though, to be honest I haven’t taken it out the last few times we swam and so far so good. Its spring loaded so the times I do remember to remove it it only takes a second to take out and another to put it back in. The pool has been much cleaner and I can jump in anytime without having to clean the bugs off the surface first.

Advertised as able to fit to 'any' above ground skimmer. Not so. I had my doubts and should have listened to my inner voice. I have a Splash Away above ground pool. It cannot be customized to fit. Perhaps for an inground skimmer but it is so flimsy ...

For those pools where the skimmer doesn't pull much of the debris into the skimmer this helped at first. The foam covered "tension bar" does not hold it in place for long. With a few weeks of use I find this no loner stays in place. The low pool current moves the arm away so it doesn't direct debris into the skimmer, whether the pump is on or off it slides out of the skimmer. A great idea with poor engineering and durability. The company should devise something that will stabilize the skimmer arm. Then send it to it's customers who already purchased their poorly designed product. I put a shim in, it helps somewhat, but for the price it is unacceptable that it is necessary to do so.

worked good while it lasted. Removed at end of season and the wing broke. I heated up the broken end with a heat gun and bent is around the holder. Hope to get one more year out of it. The wing was brittle after a summer in the sun. Pity - make out of stainless steel and you have a good product.

Will not hold tight enough to hold at 45 degree but will hold at 90 degrees, but a cut off piece of a noodle behind it to hold at 45 it works great!!!

This is an essential piece of equipment for my above ground pool. I have a 33 foot round and despite a good flow from the filter jet, some bugs and leaves just never seem to make it to the skimmer box. But with this arm, I catch 99% of floating debris. I made one slight modification by clipping a piece of clear fishing line to the arm and clipping it to the side wall so that the arm never comes loose. That little mod makes this arm worth its weight - very little netting of debris!

HelloI purchased the Skimmer arm and it works great. It came packaged very well with clear and concise instructions. It was very easy to install and it fits perfectly, i don't see it working loose at all. It literally took 30 seconds to unwrap and get fitted. It directs the flow and debris right into the skimmer just like Advertised. I am very happy with this product.

Won't stay in the skimmer opening, waste of money.
