Wonderful Resource
A colleague and I gave a retreat for the older religious sisters in our community. Almost all were in their upper 80's or 90's. I'm so happy that I found this book and the accompanying manual. We had to pick and choose from the wealth of material available in the books because we only had three days. The book provides helpful didactic material which we combined with other sources we were familiar with. The exercises and the integration of scriptural material appealed to our older sisters and they shared freely about their memories and their lives-something they don't always do. All-in-all they loved the retreat. Sometime I would like to lead a ten-part program which is the way the book is structured and use more of the material. Very well suited to older people as they look back over their lives. It helps them to see their experiences as graced and meaningful.

The Importance of Telling Your Story
I have learned over the past few years that telling my faith story is not only import to family, but others as well. Our youth today are not seeing the relevance of attending church and following Christ. They don't seem to undertstand how God works in our lives. By telling our story it not only strengthens our own faith, but can encourage others to rethink church and where they came from. This book is so helpful in that it explains how and where to begin to tell your story.

Excellent, Practical Book
I admit a bias. Dick and I are brothers and we have even written books together. This book is helpful for telling and listening to stories and has a guide for leaders. I have used it in my classes but also plan to do so with small interfaith groups where I live.

Thought-provoking
Morgan's book is one of the best books I have read this year, and I don't just say that as a Presbyterian minister. The book is full of exercises on writing a spiritual autobiography, which Morgan contends is an important exercise in living life with meaning and purpose. Further Morgan believes that everyone's story is important and that God touches peoples' lives in ways in which we may not be fully aware. The book though is not "preachy" or "icky-religious".It's a book that gets us to tell our story in a constructive and hopeful way. For individual or group use.
