Charles Hubert 3841-GR Gold-Plated Mechanical Pocket Watch

I bought the 3841-GR concurrently with the 3841-WR, which is the same watch but in chrome, and have been pleased with both of them (so this review will read very similarly). This watch has a nice solid weight to it, and the dial is simple but elegant. With the crown and button at the 3 o'clock position, the watch orients itself naturally to a good reading position when I pull it out and thumb it open. The action of the hunter cover is good, though as with any spring action cover I take a little more care closing it to keep it springy. If I wind it at bedtime it's still going in the morning without an appreciable difference from my battery watches; I wind it again and it's good for the day with maybe a touch up in the afternoon. There is no hack to stop the second hand, so I haven't synchronized it precisely with my other watches, but it's close enough for my purposes. The 3841-GR is a basic, beautiful watch that works and wears well.

I have owned several Charles Hubert watches and have never been disappointed in the quality nor workmanship for the price. This one met every expectation.

Use it for 6 months now and it keeps time pretty good. About 1 minute fast for a couple days. It is the only one mechanic watch I have, so no comparison.
