Quality piece. Attach bracket with screw to top of fireplace opening then scoot this cover up to the bracket then attach with a screw into the bracket, then insert brackets and screw in the 2 for the bottom. VERY simple install and this is a great looking fireplace cover with sturdy glass door and screen doors. I %100 recommend this product as I considered a whole bunch of them before deciding on this one and I made a great decision.

We were nervous about ordering these without actually seeing them, but we are not disappointed. They are very sturdy and elegant looking and update our fireplace much more than we imagined. We had a little problem installing, through no fault of the doors. They fit the opening perfectly, but the door was higher than our old door and covered the opening for the damper. We removed the damper handle, measured where the hole met the inside of the doors and drilled a hole through the doors to allow the damper handle to fit through. The old knob was antique brass, but we managed to find spray paint at Canadian Tire very close in color and sprayed the knob before we reinstalled it. It looks perfect now. We liked them so much we decided to do this modification, to allow us to keep them. I would strongly advise anyone with a damper knob on the outside of their fireplace to measure the outside of the screen to ensure a proper fit, or be prepared to do something like we had to do.

Just received and installed this screen to replace one that was 25 years old. This updated the room beautifully. As others have mentioned, it is much darker in person than shown, and it looks almost black, but I really don't mind because the beauty and features of the screen override that aspect. The screen came securely and well packaged, no damage at all to the unit, which was a concern of mine since it is metal and glass.I won't go into detail of our installation because this review is for the actual product (which is excellent), and going on and on about the install would detract from the product (you can read between the lines). In all fairness, every install will be different due to the factors each house has present. However, the instructions are pretty clear. One tip I would suggest - the first step in the instructions states to install the door handles first. Thankfully we waited until the unit was installed, otherwise we would have run the risk of them scratching during the installation. Also, if you have to drill into the metal lintel, do have a Shop Vac on hand to clean up all the little slivers of metal BEFORE you do your final install, and definitely use safety goggles.One complaint I DO have about this transaction - I added this item to my Amazon cart on a Saturday night, and on Sunday morning when I started the checkout process, I received a notice in my shopping cart stating that the item's price had increased since I placed in my cart. In less than 12 hours, Amazon raised the price $30! THAT annoyed me to no end, and I almost didn't complete the purchase, but it still worked out to be less expensive than in the big box stores. Still, I think Amazon was wrong to do that in such a short amount of time, and should have at least given notice that the price was going to go up by a certain time or date. How it was handled was very poor business.

Fast shipping, easy to install. The only issue I had was the bottom expansion rail is 2in and I didn’t need that much. Had to cut it down to fit but that wasn’t an issue. Looks great and the room is warmer now without the cold air coming down the chimney
