Helix - Plastic Locking Compass and Protractor - 2 Piece Set - Geometry, Drafting & Drawing

I needed a basic compass that would lock and draw well-formed circles. After purchasing a couple that didn't lock and thus were useless, I ordered this, and it was just what I needed. Great circles of different sizes. I also liked that I could substitute a thin marker for the pencil. I've used it several times and it didn't break. For the money, a great basic compass.

Exactly as pictured in the description. Used to make a circular label out of light cardboard. Was perfect.

Easy to use, not no issues keeping the compass steady to make a circle. Great for geometry class.

Yay! A compass that works!

I got this for my son to use in his high school Geometry class, but he doesn't like it. I can see why he doesn't. This is pretty cheap quality.The plastic is flimsy and wants to bend, which of course messes up your measurements/angles. This gives the compass poor accuracy.We would've returned it, but it didn't cost much and it wasn't worth the time. I figured a review could at least let people know that this is not a very good compass.

My son needed another compass for highschool. I got him a more expensive brand last year and it broke. After spending over an hour online, reading a bunch of mixed reviews on many different brands. I decided on the cheaper option for this year. However, I was hesitant at first to order this brand. Again, just because of some of the reviews. But I'm glad we went ahead with it. My son and I tried it out. It works well. Especially for the inexpensive price we paid. It arrived quick, whole and not broken. Definitely no complaints here.
