Hades POV is my favorite POV!
This book is A Touch of Darkness from Hades’s POV. While in some ways it is a retelling, it most definitely didn’t feel like I was re-reading the same book! Reading Hades’s perspective puts you into the mindset of the ancient god who has gone through so much, and it’s heartbreaking. The god of the dead has been alone, unloved, and feared his entire existence, and now the fates have sent him the woman meant to be his queen. Even though they sent him Persephone, the fates are not always kind, and they can unravel his future with her on a whim. His fear of Persephone being taken from him, not being able to handle his past, and his darkness, is so strong that he tries to control the things around them to make her understand why he is the way he is. With him being alone for so long and lacking communication skills, he begins to understand that maybe his normal way of dealing with things is not going to work with this goddess. Despite getting advice from friends and changing his ways, one thing that never changes is he will still fight for her and protect her by any means necessary because Persephone is his queen and no one touches her...but him. As his love for her grows and she returns his feelings, he starts to think maybe the fates will finally allow him to be happy...or will they?I loved getting to see Hades interact with Hecate and Hermes more (they are my favorites!) and all the behind the scenes things that we had NO idea that were going on in ATOD. I thought it was really well told by Scarlett. I loved Hades immediate reaction to her, his need for her. This story was just so rich and full of detail that you wouldn’t know it was a POV of another book. It stands on its own as an amazing story! If you can’t tell I’m in love with this book and obsessed with this series! Give it a read! You won’t regret it!

Hades is THEE God-must read!
I can't express how much I am in love with this style of writing. In ATOD you learn very little about Hades (obviously because it's about Persephone). He seems like he's holding back his thoughts half the time and is strictly business. But reading AGOF really brings everything into perspective. I felt bad for him because he always seems to have a overflowing plate of disasters on his lap. I don't know why I expected him to be some billionaire party boy waiting for Persephone every chance he got but I was completely wrong. AGOF brings you directly into Hades' world. You learn more about his businesses, charities and his Underworld life. And his friendships with Hermes and Hecate are goals! They bring the laughter and sass as well as keep our Hades honest and on track. I love this book just as much as ATOD and ATOR. Scarlett is amazing with her mythology, romance and drama filled writing. Definitely a must read book!

Seeing this story from Hades' point of view was absolutely mind blowing!
Seeing this story from Hades' point of view was absolutely mind blowing. I'm so invested in this world and this relationship. Seeing how important Hades is to so many different aspects of this world was incredible. Getting to see how many hats he really wears was something I never would have know without this book. I loved getting more of the other Gods and DemiGods in this story and hope whole heartedly that we get to see more of them in the future. Being able to hear Hades inner monologue and how compassionate he really is and the contrast between how the world sees him and how Persephone was raised to think of him is night and day. Getting to see the interactions between Hades and Minthe was also eye-opening. And please, please, please can we have more of Hecate!! The banter between her and Hades is top-notch! I know you guys know this already but I am utterly obsessed with this series and I can't wait until the next book comes out!! May could not get here any faster!

Absolutely stunning!
A GAME OF FATE. DOES. NOT. DISAPPOINT! Like if you obsessed with ATOD like me then you'll want to read this book. This is just ATOD but from Hades. Not really his POV because it has stuff in it that we didn't know he was dealing with. It is amazing! The writing is perfect, the descriptions are perfect, the characters are perfect, it's all so perfect! I laughed so hard at this book! Scarlett St. Clair put the cherry on the top with this one! 5/5 Stars!!!

So good!
A Game of Fate is A Touch of Darkness but in Hades point of view. And I have to say, I may have liked his point of view better than Persephone's. Being in Hades's head was super interesting. There was a lot I wanted to know when reading A Touch of Darkness when it came to what he was thinking and that was answered here. But what really made me like it better was the other plot going on for Hades. Like the Persephone centered book, there were kind of two plots going on. The romance between them and something else. For Persephone it was her job and conflict with herself and mother. But for Hades it was something entirely different. He was dealing with a mortal named Sisyphus who cheated death. In doing so, it jeopardizes Hades and Persephone's future. Also, we get to see a lot more of the gods and the conflicts stirring between them. Something that is definitely not resolved and I imagine will make up a lot of the next books. But that side plot and seeing Hades's world just appealed to me a lot more. Sometimes it is tricky reading the same story in two different point of views, the fear of it feeling too repetitive. I didn't feel that here because Hades had a lot going on outside his relationship with Persephone. And when he was with her, it was refreshing to see his thoughts of these moments. This has been a great series so far and I'm looking forward to grabbing the next book. It also makes me curious to the other Hades's books that are coming. My guess is that in the next book we won't understand a lot of what is going on with Hades until we get his book to account for what happened. Loving this series so far and can't wait for more!

One of my favorites
A Game of Fate is not only A Touch of Darkness in Hades' POV, but it's actually a whole other story line. It's like we get a glimpse of what's happening behind the stage.A Touch of Darkness is about Persephone and how she's making it on her own; trying to become independent, while also falling in love with a god, the God of Death, her fated husband and King.A Game of Fate is about Hades and how he comes to realize he has a connection to Persephone, when he didn't even know who she was. But the Fates made sure to quickly put him out of his misery by telling him who and what Persephone was - especially to him. Side note: I loved how he always cursed the Fates for what they did. Now, one would usually be overjoyed to find out they had a fated mate, a Queen and, while Hades was happy, he was also scared. First, what the Fates giveth, the Fates can easily taketh away. Second, Demeter. The mother-in-law goddess. See how he just can't jump up and down from joy?I loved the side characters. We get to see more of Hecate and Hermes, and their relationship with Hades. Again, they're there, they're awesome but they don't steal the show. Loved how the author introduced new side characters - Hephaestus, I'm looking at you - and just how deeper and darker this retelling actually is.And hotter. I don't recall A Touch of Darkness being this hot, but I'm all for the sex fest! I mean, can you truly blame Persephone? I actually don't understand how she resisted that long.Anyway, I don't want to say more, so as not to spoil it because it's the type of book that needs to be savored. Fair warning, you might fall even more for Hades - didn't think it was possible - and might miss him, when you're done reading AGOF. I loved it even more than ATOD and highly recommend it. Easily one of the best, hottest retellings out there. Can't wait to read A Touch of Ruin in his POV!My rating is 5+ stars.

Even Better Than Persephone's Perspective
Usually I am not a fan of ‘other perspective’ books. I have never been one to read releases that are the book I’ve read but from the other person’s point of view. I’ve always been of the frame of mine of… I’ve already read this book, I don’t need to read it again. However, due to my absolute love of Hades, I decided to read this one. Turns out my views of ‘other perspective’ books? Wrong!! So very wrong! I loved A Game of Fate even more than A Touch of Darkness.Oh! My! God! So much happened in the background that Persephone is not aware of. I couldn’t believe everything that happened in this book. It was a much more action packed book. I absolutely loved Hades’ point of view because you see so much more of the Underworld and what he has to go through being a God. I absolutely loved that we saw a lot more of the other Greek Gods in this one. I thought that was incredible and it was absolutely amazing. This is absolutely my favourite of the series so far. I preferred the Hades perspective to Persephone’s and I cannot wait to read A Touch of Ruin from his perspective. I absolutely cannot!!

Loved it!! Better than the original
Wow! I loved this book and I have to say I definitely preferred this to ‘A Touch of Darkness’. I was wary in the beginning as ‘Midnight Sun’ (the Twilight retelling) showed, it can be hard to retell a story from a different characters perspective. ‘Midnight Sun’ told us the the same story from Edward’s perspective, but when Edward wasn’t with Bella he was watching her, stalking her or thinking about her which offered us nothing new to this world and no new insight into the characters. This book shows how it should be done properly.A Game of Fate’ follows the same storyline as ‘A Touch of Darkness’ and so most of the scenes between Hades and Persephone are the same, although through Hades perspective we have different details and some of the questions that remained unanswered from the first book have been answered. Some of the scenes from the original are missing, but we have different ones in their place, for example a nice scene with a picnic in the underworld. What I think this novel did so well was that it offered us something different. It was almost like a new story. It wasn’t simply the same events telling us how Hades falls in love with Persephone. There was so much more. We had an additional storyline of Sisyphus trying to avoid death running alongside the romance storyline which again gives us a new perspective into Hades and his actions from the first book. We get to see many of the other gods and learn more about their dynamics, particularly Aphrodite and Hephaestus, which I enjoyed.I think my enjoyment was also increased because Hades as a lead character is simply more compelling than Persephone. After reading ‘A Touch of Malice’ I started to find Persephone really quite irritating. I found her actions and attitudes often contradictory and I didn’t really enjoy the journalism aspect, so less Persephone actually worked quite well for me. In this we we see Hades as a true ruler of the underworld. We see his darkness, his ruthlessness and we can see him be cruel. We see how much he enjoys his role as a torturer but at the same time his weariness at humanity. We have an insight into his loneliness and his yearning to be loved all the while feeling unworthy of it all which give us a completely different perspective to his character. As much as I enjoyed it, I do always have issues with characters who fall in love almost immediately as Hades did with Persephone, especially when it reads more like lust. The characters at this point do not know each other and every time Hades is with Persephone, his thoughts are purely sexual. I know that the author attempted to explain this by saying that they are tied together, that they are fated to be with each other with Hades knows. However I still needed a reason why Hades, who admits that he has never loved before, would suddenly fall in love with someone simply because they are beautiful. Yes she is a light to his darkness and if he had loved how she made him feel then that would be one thing but it was more a physical attraction rather than loving her because he knows or understands her. It’s my personal preference but I’m not one to believe in love at first sight. Another small complaint is that like it’s predecessors, there are again just a few too many errors and typos throughout the book that really need to be edited out. It didn’t spoil my enjoyment of the story but it’s almost something I’ve come to expect from this author. Overall I really enjoyed it and would rate it 4.5 stars. I hope that she gives us ‘A Touch of Malice’ from Hades perspective and I look forward to the final instalment in the series.

Wonderful redention of Hades x persephone
What a wonderful treat to read it in Hades point of view after experiencing Persephone story. A must read after A touch of darkness. The reading experience of knowing how he felt during certain scenes brings joy to this readers heart. Hades is a little obsessed with Persephone and sex. Rather fun to read as all he could think of all the time. I definitely need to reread each book at the same time, I believe it will way more fun.Intriguing take on Greek gods and how they would be in modern world, yet still feel the ancient behind it all.Just love the cast Hecate and Hermes are absolutely hoot to read and gives the story some much needed levity.Definitely one of my favourite retelling of a epic love story, of darkness seeking light.Highly recommended read and I am definitely reading the next books. Persephone and Hades books.

Not as interesting as Persephone's POV
I love Hades.I thought reading this from his POV would be absolutely epic but it wasn't. I mean, the chapters where he is conducting business and being all Godly were interesting, but otherwise it felt like he was just hanging around. Atleast with Persephone, we had an actual story! Also, i like my Gods to not be humanised and i felt Hades should be feared. He is scary. He is powerful. He is not human but i constantly felt that he was, in this book.I will still read the rest of the books in his POV though, but after I've read the originals, because this is more of a companion book.
