I purchased this to make my surface pro more versatile but when I first purchased it. I was having trouble getting it to connect. But after reviewing the instructions it said that you needed to press the power button and hold it then push the function key and the Z key that has the pairing symbol on the "letter Z key " the "Bluetooth keyboard" came up and it was connected.

I found it very easy to connect the Bluetooth to my surface pro 7. After charging the keyboard for the first time it lasted for almost 3 weeks. I use my tablet everyday for school and work. i was very impressed by that.

When this keyboard connects, it works well. HOWEVER (it's a big "however") the connectivity of the device is very finicky. With other Bluetooth devices, you turn on your device and it automatically connects to the computer. With this keyboard, I have to MANUALLY connect the device EVERY SINGLE TIME I turn on my computer. It's very cumbersome. And because it has been previously registered as a device on the computer, you have to remove it and re-connect it as if it was a new device. Many times, the computer does not recognize it and has difficulty connecting. When I need the computer in a pinch, I don't even bother connecting my keyboard because I can spend 5-10 minutes fiddling with the connection of the keyboard. I just use my soft touchscreen keyboard, which defeats the purpose of having the keyboard in the first place. I really had high hopes with this keyboard because I had a similar one that connects SUPER SEAMLESSLY, but unfortunately, this product becomes so much for of a hassle than what it's worth

After two years, I am giving up and will buy a keyboard from another company.Two main problems: Inconsistent Bluetooth connectivity and inaccurate touchpad tracking.It makes the keyboard very hard to use. Almost every minute, I have to re-connecting the device.For the touchpad, too many times it senses the wrong gesture, to the point that I ended up using a separate mouse.Avoid

I originally bought the Microsoft surface pro several years ago and the keyboard that I got to go with it then worked really really well, but it got worn out after several years so I got this one and I haven’t liked it. The first thing I noticed is that I have to charge this keyboard. I never had to charge the last one. I also have to turn the keyboard on every time I open the laptop up, again, something I never had to do with the last one. I’ve only had this keyboard for 2 months and it’s already having trouble connecting to the Surface Pro. Overall I’m really disappointed in the lack of quality in this keyboard. Maybe this keyboard it just defected
