A New Way to Age

What's there not to admire and practice...
Suzanne Somers is the best celebrity to tout anti-aging and for years she has been doing so. I have been following imperative knowledge she's introduced and researched for at least 20 years now. Along with my own due-diligence, I am thrilled she is so forthright and generous with her time, research, advice, etc.I'm a woman who can easily pass for 15-20-years younger, as I've been practicing anti-aging for decades now, before it was even called that! How I eat, what I eat, supplements I take daily, proper sleep, exercise, my thoughts, emotional health, and more.I can probably thank my dad for honoring good health, as he was a great role model. (He died at 92 of old age, no dementia, no diseases.) He was decades way before his time - taking daily supplements, eating plain yogurt every morning, oatmeal, exercise, etc. Even as a child, I would often think, "Hmm, he might be on to something, I am not going to grow old or ever get fat either." And my dad looked great up until the end - plus he died with a full head of beautiful, white hair. While you can easily jump around in Suzanne's book (based on what interests you), I am reading page-by-page, as I don't want to miss anything. Oftentimes I'll stop reading and do a quick search on something she or her doctors recommend, so I can see her new book is going to take a while for me to finish. That's okay, I know in the end it will be well worth it. As always with her books, I LEARN something new each and every time. Things that will continue my path into aging the right way, while fooling everyone in my sight, LOL.TRUE STORY: I had emergency surgery (4.5 hours) after a traumatic accident just over 5-years ago. I don't know what the term is, but hospitals refer to someone who look much younger than their chronological age a special code name. Well, I was one of them. I was wondering why medical personnel kept walking by my door and sheepishly taking a quick look, LOL. A nurse finally told me they were blown away by my age - and skin. One nurse was looking at my legs and commenting they were that of someone in their 30's. I am younger than Suzanne, but not by that much. I have a very healthy head of hair, too - it grows like a weed, medium thick, etc. No Botox or fillers (except the "11" lines between my eyebrows) and my facial skin - and chest - almost smooth as butter. The latter I'll give to solid genes (my mom in this case, her skin was nearly flawless until the end), but also my lifestyle and how I take care of myself counts as much, too.And while I'm only into the first 80 pages of Suzanne's book, it struck me when she said people practicing anti-aging rarely get sick. She is 100% correct. It's almost freaky to me that I only get sick once every 7 to 10 years, and I am not kidding. No flues, no colds, no chest coughs, no sore throats, nothing. In fact, on January 15th, 2020, I headed into my 7th year of being sick-free. I am super competitive with myself and expect to keep on a roll until at least 2023!Now, when the universe says, "It's time, we're giving you a doozy" - it does, LOL. You know, every "sickness" I named above, I get altogether and will last maybe 3-weeks. BUT, I'll take that every 7-10 years, as opposed to those I know getting sick almost 3-4 times and more a year. I have a friend who has a horrible cold almost every 6 weeks (nasty cough, sore throat, and you name it.) That is unfathomable to me. I can go on and on, but I've said enough.Read her book, and practice what she and I have been doing for a very long time - and you, too, will be sick-free, will look great, feel great - and maybe you'll get that special hospital code for, "Alert, much older patient than what they look like." - LOL. It's a great compliment for living life as if your body and mind depend on it, because it does!Thank you, Suzanne, you are a true inspiration to everyone who takes a healthy breath each morning (and especially to those who don't, but will learn spades reading your book.)I wish I can meet you one day!

A lot of important nutrition info in this book
OK, I gave it four stars. Not because it not a good book, because it is a VERY good book. I have picked up many valuable tips on keeping well. However, I was not impressed when Suzzane kept throwing in little commercials for products on HER website. I am not likely to go to her website to buy certain vits.

High level book for beginners
I got this book hoping it would get into details a little more regarding some of the ideas/treatments presented. All the info presented are good knowledge buckets to have, but they are very high level. As a biohacker, virtually none of the info was new to me. Probably would be a good book for my mom or someone else who knows very little in that regard. Most of the book is just transcribed conversations with her and various doctors. I feel like that was the lazy way to write a book and makes it harder to find certain info within the conversation/not as well organized. Like just put all these people on your podcast lady! You can still monetize off of it!I am interested in her take on hormones, but wanted the nitty gritty details. This did not have it. She pushes these doctors of hers on a website. I contacted a few and none ever got back to me. So that is bunk too.

The most informative in easy to understand language & will blow you away!
I have this on Audible, & fully plan on getting the physical book as well. One of the best I must say from not just Susanne, but the contents as well! I read upwards of 30 to 50 books a yr, all non fiction, all mostly in health areas, & this book has exceeded my widest expectations by far, and I'm only halfway through it. It is a book you will want to refer to over & over for the next couple yrs, as alternative health is exploding now w/true healing, age reversal, disease prevention, even cures for diseases so prevelant in our dangerous, extremely toxic world! I can't say enough about this book, except to buy it, & expect the best you've ever read in health, & disease prevention, & help for!

Full of information.
This is probably my 4th or 5th book by Suzanne Somers. Every time I find some useful information which is relevant for me. I was glad to read the pages on the benefits of ubiquinol for cardiac health as I wanted to try it for myself. There is always some new information in each edition as it is not just the same old being recycled.
