Years ago, I received a couple of cast iron skillets as a wedding gift. (I come from a line of practical, rather than romantic people) I didn't know how to care for the pans - to keep them seasoned - so I put them in the dishwasher and then wondered why they became terribly rusted. They ended up in a box, one that was lost in one of our many moves. Just recently, I decided to try high-temp searing/cooking in cast iron again, and bought a Lodge 12" skillet, the Mercedes Benz cast iron cookware. I've read up on how to care for my new workhorse, but found it frustrating to clean baked-on crud from the pan without soaking it (horrors!). Of course, I turned to Amazon, the oracle of all things on the market, and found the KitchnWhiz cleaning kit! What a find! The "chainmail' scrubber works like a charm; I sprinkle a little Kosher salt in the pan and scrub with the chainmail, and hey, presto! my skillet is rid of all burnt-on food particles, still has its precious seasoned finish, and is ready for my next culinary endeavor. This cleaning kit would be a great buy at twice the price. I got so much for my money with the KitchnWhiz cleaning kit. I highly recommend it.

I have been very happy with this product. We started cooking out of cast iron almost exclusively now and this is a lifesaver. The silicon cover is great for both of my pans. I use the chain mail at least once a week and it does a great job and the suction hanger to dry it is a clever and useful addition. I don't really know what the black tabs are for. There has been nothing that I have needed those for that I can't do with the chain mail, but maybe as I get more cast iron experienced, I will discover the magical touch that these provide me with. Don't make the mistake that I made by using the drying cloth on the pan when it was too hot. I melted mine... oops! The only reason that I didn't give this 5 stars is the book... I would have bought this without it, but I was still looking forward to glancing at it. It never came through email and I just searched for it again. Oh well... No big deal, but it was annoying.

I wasn't sure about this at first but felt it was worth a try at that price and it's turned out great. The construction is smooth & feels good in the hand, much better than steel wool or even the green pads that clog with scraped off food. Burnt food scrubs out easily and then falls out of the rings. After scrubbing the pan I put a little dish soap on the chain mail and rub it in a ball between my hands to remove any sticky residue. I then rinse and hang it from the included hook that I place on the faucet to dry. All the accessories have proved to be more useful than I expected. The silicon handle is nicer than the oven mitt and the scrapers clean the goo off my poorly seasoned pan. (Too much oil!) Taking it down to a better surface. The microfiber cloth is good for a quick dry before warming on the stove and oiling the pan. It also dries the chain mail if I want to hang it from the rack instead of drip drying over the sink. I'm very happy with the purchase.

This is amazing. I have a ceramic Crock Pot that is a blooming pain to clean. I would work on cleaning for days. Within minutes the chain cloth got ever nook and cranny of crud gone and crock pot was clean as a whistle. I have told everyone about this.

These products bundled together were a good value. The chain-mail cleaner is very high quality, and the handle cover and scrapers are made by Lodge and of high quality as well. The only thing I would have liked to have seen are some instructions on how and when to use the chain mail and scrapers to clean, and what the cloth is for (I use it to spread the oil around the pan once it is clean and dry). I didn't know why one scraper has ridges until I saw it listed on the Lodge website- it is used for cleaning the pans that are ridged for grilling. So a little instruction sheet would be helpful.

Gotta get this set! cannot beat the price for all the cast iron cleaners! makes my life so much easier clean up w/these tools. there was a "glitch," however the seller took care of that in a timely and professional manner. Make sure that when you order any chainmail and other accessories it comes from "KITCHWHIZ" Do the homework and get the best product for the best price. I was really pleased with all of the items included in your kit. The only thing I wish is that there had been some instructions about use of the chain mail, and that cloth. Too, it would've been nice if there were some instructions regarding the use of the chain mail and seasoning of the pans. This is not really a complaint but it would've been nice if there was some printed matter to come along with the products. I think you have a quality product year and I am sure I will get much joy and use out of the items furnished. My best to you and your daughter, keep up the good work, and keep on keeping on! GREAT! I use cast iron daily for home use.. This product is So much cleaner then the course sea salt scrub method, and doesn't leave fuzz like a wash cloth will. If the metal chain link gets too dirty I just run under water shake dry and hang back on the suction cup and hook that it comes with. The other accessories are also useful but once you learn how to cook with cast iron you really only need the chain link cloth. OH! The pot handle holder that it comes with is also great.
