It’s cast iron and it needs to be treated with care. Care being washing after use and rubbing with a very thin coat of oil to stop the metal from drying out and going rusty.

Although I had to return this skillet due to its size, basically not big enough for my families needs.I gave the skillet 5 stars for its quality, and construction. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this size for a single person, but I could not fault the craftsmanship of the product 5 stars all the way
