My husband and I are HUGE fans of cheeses after several trips to France. We hunt down all the new types we find in higher end stores. Add a little baguette, hard salami & wine, and it's a meal fit for a king! So a good serving and utensil set is important to us! Nothing worse than a GOOD cheese using a plastic knife and paper plate.So this set peaked our interest! Includes all the different utensils we could need.The wooden cutting board is perfect for cheese. It's nice quality and perfect size! No splinters or rough spots. Nice and smooth with a great look. Not only for cheese, but our bread too. Has the bonus slot for the knife.....though a little odd the way it sits in it. Unless I just can't figure it out which very well likely could be LoLThe knife is great as well. Nice quality and sharp enough to slice through our hard cheeses and salamis.The "slicer" is good for slicing cheese for a sandwich. We use it mostly on a harder cheese, like cheddar.The grater. Is sharp. And grates the hard cheese well. But the handle is difficult to get a good grip. That would be my biggest con of this set. I could be designed a tad better. Maybe thicker and round. Giving a larger and more comfortable grip to it.The quality of this set is nice and great for gift giving. For for a gift, I do wish it came packaged together in a box. Each item comes separate, loose in the shipping box as if you purchased them separately at a store. That doesn't take away from the quality of the set, just the "ready to gift" factor.I would rate this a little higher than "average" quality set. The tools are nice and so are the cheese bags. The board is very porous and soft, leaving small splinters in my cheese after a couple times washing the board. Also, the slot for the knife on the board doesn't hold the knife it comes with well which is a little silly. Overall, not worth returning but I wouldn't buy it again.
