Not impressed
The book is okay. It's organized and easy to follow. But, it's basic information you can find just by searching on the internet. I didn't find anything in the book that I hadn't already found by browsing the thousands of Tarot sites out there. Plus, these are just HER opinions of what the cards mean. It gives you an idea of what is possible, but everyone has their own meanings of the cards, and it can even differ depending on the deck used. If you really want good advice...and learn to read tarot.... join the Aeclectic Tarot Forum. Save your money and don't buy this book, it's not worth $15.

nice book
Eleanor Piper wrote a nice book. As you know, the Tarot cards have a tendency to 'draw themselves' - so it is more important to look at the answer they give, rather than the number of positive cards or negative cards. ... You're not playing High-Low.So, if you are asking a question like "Should I bet on The Grand National?" and you get the answer 10 of swords "Yes, it is over." I would take that to mean that the cards are answering your underlying worry of "Should I stop betting?" or "Will I lose?" - which is the unspoken question behind the question you asked. If you are unsure, you can always convert an answer like this into a multi-card reading to get some more information. Thus if I was worried about losing money and I asked "Should I bet on The Grand National?" and got the 10 of swords as the answer, I would think about what my real question was, realise I was worried about losing when I asked, and not place a bet.If the same question came up with The Magician as the answer, I would be a little more worried, as it is saying that there is a consequence to placing the bet which I will definitely have to live with. So it says "place the bet, but pay the price for placing the bet." That price could be much higher than the cost of just placing the initial bet. It's your choice how you use the cards, and how you ask your questions. Just make sure you are not openly inviting the divine forces to play games with you, because if you have a lesson to learn they will use the cards to help teach it to you. Oracles can be very slippery, be careful.
