I purchased this for my 4yo. He absolutely loved it. We paired it with a pair of red long johns to ward off the chilly fall air.

Save your kid the heartache and don’t order this costume!!!!! My son was SO excited for his Halloween costume but when we put it on it started to blow up for just a few seconds but it wouldn’t inflate all the way before it would short out and the fan would cut off. I could wiggle the battery pack/wires and it would turn back on for a few seconds and make a meager attempt to inflate but then it would short out again. We were heading out the door to a Halloween party and had to scramble to come up with something last minute (thank goodness his Daddy is a fireman so we had lots of firefighter stuff to throw together something) but the disappointment was intense for my little guy!!!! I initiated a refund and will be sending this back!!!Also note: I ordered this without fully reading all the details (shame on me but it happens!) but be mindful that this costume does NOT include the Mario HAT, GLOVES, SHIRT, or MUSTACHE!!!! I borrowed the hat from a friend but make sure if you do foolishly order this costume despite the reviews that you have those accessories covered as well!!!

We purchased this costume for our 5 year old son to wear for Halloween. It was fantastic! He loved the costume, and looked great in it! It fit him well (he's a pretty average 5 year old size), and it seems he'll be able to wear it for the next few years without trouble.The riding Yoshi effect is awesome and hysterical. Yoshi's tail 'wags' as the child walks, and his head kinda bobs around. As we were out trick-or-treating, people were in love with the costume, and it even caused one overly enthusiastic homeowner to declare my son the 'winner of Halloween' and empty his candy bowl into my son's bag. As the father in this situation I was not terribly thrilled with the implications of an overly hyper candy'd up kid running around for the next month but alas, my kiddo was happy.The fan on this unit is powerful enough to fill the costume and keep it inflated. I put batteries in it the day before, and it ran for about 4 hours on Halloween. At the end of the day the batteries were definitely starting to run down, causing Yoshi to appear tired and defeated, but I would feel tired too if a 5 year old rode me around the neighborhood for 4 hours.I wish this came with the hat, mustache, and gloves but they were easy enough to find elsewhere, and for the price how could I complain.Tl;dr Great costume for 5-8, looks awesome, doesn't come with hat, mustache, gloves but whatevs, fan with fresh batteries lasts ~4hrs.

Design flaw is that the leg sits over the fan which sucks it in and deflates costume. I used velcro to move the leg from in front of the fan. It's an easy fix and the costume worked great. Overall it's a great costume. Would be better if they found a better placement for fan. Also should put a pouch to hold the battery pack.

Perfect costume for a Mario Bros fanatic! I grew up on Mario and my grandson absolutely loved this costume for his birthday!

A lot of reviews talk about the fan going out and I think the main reason for that is the Mario leg blocking the fan. We immediately pinned the leg back using strong Velcro and it stayed well. My son has used this costume three times now in the last week and we haven't changed the battery's yet. I'll put fresh one in for trick or treating tonight but we've gone to three different Halloween events that have lasted a few hours each and this costume has held up well. The shoulder strap is starting to fray a bit, but I feel like it still has several wears before that gives way. The power box has to clip to something so he wears sweatpants underneath and it clips to the waistband. It has fallen off a few times and we fish it out from the leg and clip it back but that's usually when he's running and jumping around. You do need to buy the shirt and mustache separately. Overall it's a good buy.

Works ok. If the kids go running the battery pack will fall down the leg and out.
