This Water Bottle is "All Wet" (ha ha! No, really...it's not good)
I was looking for a replacement for one of my guinea pigs' Kaytee water bottles, as it has grown worn over the years (but still has held up very well). I mostly just needed a new spout. So, in reading many of the reviews, I was led to believe that this bottle would not leak; at least no more than beyond the first few seconds when it's put into its holder. Uh, yeah...about that...it leaked like CRAZY. Drip...drip...drip...drip...drip...etc. etc. until there was a small puddle in Rocky's cage. Mercifully they seem to have a decent refund policy, so that's where they get an extra star. But other than that...nope.Sticking with Kaytee, because this water bottle is Leak City.

Excellent leak proof bottle
This bottle, when filled and used properly, doesn't leak at all. It is made of a thicker plastic than pet store cheapies so it's not as pressure sensitive. Anyone who's owned water bottles knows if the bottle is squeezed, it loses some of the vacuum which results in leaks.Because my male rat is solo in his cage and doesn't chew plastic, I used the holder from my previous glass bottle along with the included top holder to mount it inside his cage. This eliminates any possible pressure on the bottle. To use:Fill all the way to the top, to the point of overflowing, and fill the nozzle end with water, too, to wet the gasket. Screw nozzle on snugly and flip the bottle. Squeeze the bottle a little and tap the ball with your finger a couple of times to establish a vacuum seal (you'll see bubbles going up). Put on cage and tap a couple more times. Good to go!Use a baby bottle brush to clean the bottle and nozzle each time you change it and this bottle will years!

Can not recommend - Leaks!
Super disappointed. This does not come with a mounting bracket and leaks like crazy. I had to remove it. Water dripped out in one day. I tried different mounting methods but ended up reverting to an older kaytee.

Leaks
This leaks like crazy which is really stressful for hamsters. Hamsters can get really sick from getting wet. They can also get sick from mildew. If this drips into the bedding and I dont remove all of it , there can be big problems. I have it held on with velcro and I angle it way back so it doesn't leak. I have to find the perfect angle where my hamster can still get water out. Very stressful.

Doesn't leak, but could be improved.
Purchased this water bottle a couple of months ago for the extended family's Guinea Pigs. The bottle still functions fine, but the material is almost completely opaque. This makes judging whether your piggies are drinking enough water more of a hassle than is necessary. The interior of the bottle comes with a little free-floating plastic turtle which does little to help gauge water levels. We would have preferred a glass bottle overall, but those were missing from Amazon altogether when we were looking to buy.

It works!
This water bottle works well. It only leaks if the cage is being shifted around from my cleaning but other than that it does not leak. The holder that it comes with however is not so great. It's on the flimsy side. Fortunately, I had one from a previous water bottle and that seems to help hold it in place. I would recommend this water bottle if you are looking for a good, leak proof water bottle as they are hard to come by.

So far no leaks!
Anyone with rodents knows it’s nearly impossible to find a non leaking water dispenser. This one does not leak! Wish there was a larger size though.

Greatest Guinea Pig Bottle Ever
This is the BEST guinea pig water bottle I have ever had -- and I have had a lot. It does not leak, and my guineas love it. It is also relatively quiet, at least when it is more than half full, which is important to me because my guinea drinks like a madwoman.
