Amazing Costume. High-Quality, Perfect.
Fitting: I was first skeptical on which size to choose from, and how it would fit, but I bought a size up, and it fit perfect. It it big, sure, but the rope really shapes it to fit how it should, with just the right amount of length. I am 5' 10", 140, Slender, and I bought a Large, and it fit absolutely perfectly. With the rope tied around my waist, it fit much better, and had a little drag to it, which is how it's supposed to look. The only problem I had was the hood. It was a bit big, and with a little gust of breeze of air, it blew off. But that can be fixed.Quality: This is perhaps the most well-made costume I've ever got. It is sewn really well, with Wrinkle-Resistant Fabric, that is thick, strong, durable, and overall well-made. This is nothing like the cap you'd get at Party City or where ever. Amazing quality, for a reasonable price. Definitely worth it.The rope was well made too, durable, and made of cotton. Really 'Ties' the costume together... (lol.) The cross was a nice touch too, works well with the overall look. The hood was made of the same Fabric as the robe, and isn't exactly pointy, but not round. It is a big hood, but it is adjustable, by how much you pull it down over your face.If you're deciding on which size, go a size up, it'll fit just how it's supposed to (In the stock photos), with the rope tied.I used this for my Halloween Costume this year (MMXVI), I was a Plague Doctor, and it worked perfectly. All of the other robes I was looking at, this was perfect, because I was looking for one with a shoulder cape/ detachable hood, and a rope. Check out my pics.

Decent for the price, but small in the chest/shoulders/arms
I give this four stars, for the price, which was not too bad. I'd have awarded 3.5 were it available. Overall rating for quality/fit, I'd have to choose a 3, primarily for the fit.The material seems decent, compared to many other costume-grade outfits. It's not particularly robust, but doesn't feet as though the slightest movement will rip it. It's nice that it came with the rope and cross.Where I have an issue with this is that, despite being XL in size, I found it quite binding in the upper chest and across the back. It was tight around the upper arms; I didn't buy this to show off my triceps, I would have preferred flowing and draping. Because of this, getting it on and off was a tad tricky. Nonetheless, it was extremely long. It was more in keeping with a person well over 6' tall. All in all, not a bad purchase, but if you have a muscular chest and arms, be sure to go up a size. But be prepared to hem it, unless you're rather tall.

About what you’d expect
A decent costume made from good materials, though mine was slightly tight. A combination of broad shoulders and being admittedly overweight made getting in and out of the costume tricky, but doable, and perfectly comfortable once it’s on. A quick side note or two as well: At least in my case, I found that the hood portion of this costume was slightly excessive, capable of covering almost all of my head once pulled down all the way. Additionally, though the white version can be dyed, it doesn’t take it very easy. If you want any kind of dark color, you might need to give it multiple dye sessions, or use some powerful stuff.

short and super thin!
These are the made of the worst fabric ever!!! they're so see-through like nylon hose and it's not full length as it made for a person maybe 5foot!...... Its more like a super thin cheap jacket with a hood....Returning!!!

Great Costume – Bought XL
I was the Beau of Satan's Ball with this costume. Well, not really, but many people thought it had demonic overtones. It's good quality, fits well (I'm about 6'2 or 6'3 and weigh between 190 and 195), and is easy to care for (it irons well). One guy said if you have big guns or something of that nature, it might be too tight. First off, no guy should say he has big guns, but he would be right I imagine. I'm on the slender side, and the costume fits almost perfectly. It hangs down to the floor, and when I walk, only a little bit of shoe shows. The sleeves cover my hands until I wave, whereby you can see about 3/4 of my whole hand. The sleeves are not as roomy as the seller's model in the photo indicates. However, they're roomy enough. This product is worth the money in my opinion and will see more uses than just a one–time costume.

Perfect last minute Ren-fair garb!
I quite enjoyed wearing my monk's robes to the Ren-fair! Easy to throw on over shorts, t-shirt, and tennis shoes, but still look period! My only nit-picks with the product: the sleeves and bottom hem were really long, but rolled or hiked up easily enough; the fit was OK, but pretty tight across my shoulders; and the belt could've been longer.Overall, I think it looked pretty good and I very much enjoy that it is a simple costume that is fairly timeless across all periods. Very pleased with this purchase!

Horribly designed; shoulder seams not equal.
In all fairness, the incident with the superglue cannot be blamed on the makers of this robe. That might be the most positive thing I have to say. If you’re exactly the size you want to order, this is an okay robe for a monk’s costume. It comes in two pieces, the robe and the cowl. However, for $45, the quality should be much better.I ordered a XL for my brother, but the shoulders weren’t wide enough for him; I sent that back and got the XXL, thinking I could just hem it. However, when hemming something, it helps tremendously if all seams are equal on both sides of the midline. For example, if one shoulder seam from collar to sleeve is 5 inches, the other one should be 5 inches as well...NOT 6 inches. The material is also cheap polyester, which is the worst for both sewing and being in the sun. My brother felt like he was being roasted “like a pig on a spit” in the robe. Fortunately, I was able to sort of fix the sleeves (covering the different cuff seams with a leather lacing, which was where the superglue came in) and my brother still had a great time as a warrior monk at the Ren Faire. However, my advice is don’t buy this robe. For just a bit more money, you can get a much higher quality cotton robe. Higher quality, better comfort, no need to bother with shoulder seams of unequal length!
