Post Surgery Patented Essential Recovery Bra w Adjustable Front Closure Black

This was the only comfortable bra I found post breast reduction surgery (36K to 36D/E). I like that it gives full coverage and compression. I also like that the strap length has a wide range of adjustments. I have a short torso and bra straps are often too loose for me. Most of the other post-surgical bras available do not have full coverage nor a wide range of strap lengths. Those bras made me feel like I was balancing a painful plate of jello on my chest. This bra is the only one that made my post-op breasts feel secure and reduced my overall pain level.Things to know:1. Go up one band size from what you usually use. I initially got the 36D/DD but I found that too tight on my ribs just below my bust. 38D/DD was more comfortable without compromising on compression2. Post surgery, your cup size is in a state of flux. I first tried the 36D/DD exactly 1 week post-op and felt like a boa constrictor was around my chest. Two days later, I wore the bra again - and this time, my chest was much more comfortable.

I purchased several in different sizes, starting with my size and going three sizes up--I could close the bottom hooks but never higher. Given the lack of flexibility, I can only assume that this bra was not intended for reconstruction surgery. Luckily, Amazon has great free return policy.

Extremely small. Got this for lumpectomy recovery and it was so small I couldn’t close even the bottom hooks during the first week of recovery. I ordered my normal bra size (38B). At about week 2 post recovery I had fluid problems. Tried this again & was just able to get it closed. The tight compression worked, but I couldn’t breathe. The bra is very well made, but the band does run inches too small.
