Proven technology but quantity of liquid pool cover is a bit "fishy"
The basic premise of this product is solid. Liquid monolayer pool covers are shown to clearly reduce evaporation and heat loss. I have tested the Flexible Solutions Heatsavr liquid in a controlled setting. The cooling rate of a volume of warm water with Heatsavr was significantly slower than an identical volume of water in the same indoor setting.That being said, there does appear to be discrepancy between the AMOUNT of liquid cover required per Flexible Solutions' data and what is contained in these fish. In essence, significantly more money would need to be spend on a greater volume of liquid pool cover to achieve the desired energy savings.

Hard to know if it worked
I'm not sure really how to rate this, because it's almost impossible to tell if it worked last season--not the fault of the product necessarily, it's just hard to tell. Definitely easier to use than a real pool cover, but it felt weird to use the pool knowing there was a coating of something on top of the water.

Works ok
Fish heated our pool some, but didn't last a month. Maybe 2-3 weeks? I think the solar ball is better, but found it much cheaper in pool store than online. Maybe if you put two or three in at a time?

Could not tell it worked
It was hard to tell if the fish or the sun warmed the pool...there were no negative effects from the ecosavr Solar Fish, but I didn't really see a noticeable increase in temperature.

Product great but way overpriced compared to local pool store. Which I didn't know until after I purchased.

Doesn't work at all.
The product is supposed to form an invisible microscopic layer on top of the pool. Instead, there were little white chunks floating all over the top. And the pool was just as cold the next day as before using it. When we used a net to clean leaves off the top of the pool, the little white chunks came off too. The product lasted one day. At least the ugly white chunks are gone. Do not waste your money.

Like it but the dotted line where you're supposed to ...
Like it but the dotted line where you're supposed to cut is not really clear (usually you have to cut below the line). Otherwise seems like a good addition to the pool.
