How can you not like these little pocket guides. They are fun, informative and give pause for thought without being overwhelming to layman. I found myself flipping back to earlier chapters as I gained more knowledge.My only critique is the author occasionally interjects his opinion. Mildly distracting.The illustrations are weirdly fun.

This series is a good one, and this book is a good overview of the concepts, history, and ideas of capitalism. The reason for the 3 star rating is the author's opinion comes through too much. This isn't normally a problem for me, but in this book it felt like it was mostly criticism of capitalism and explanations of why socialism is better.There are many things they could have spent more time on, like Fujiyama or the other modern capitalist theories. But instead we got a lot of focus on Marx.Overall it's worth a read, (free if you are a Prime member) but it's not the best in the series.

Truly, a great book that summarizes and informs and makes you think and appreciate without feeling bored.I would highly recommend reading it.

Near the end, the material is treated with increasing brevity and less clarity (or at least the what the implications are of the theory.)

The thoughts that have been circulating in your head have most likely been thought of by others throughout time. This book was an affirming and eye-opening experience for me. It turns out that a lot of my thoughts have already been thought of by a guy named Karl. And after reading this book I'm excited to learn more and try to change the world for the better for everyone on the planet. I have a lot more reading I've got to do.

In the paper version text and illustrations nicely interact, providing a unique approach to a new topic. In the Kindle version the two elements are completely separated, you have to read illustration and text separately.

The book is a collection of capitalist idea from ancient to modern time. There is but one fault : amidst capitalist idea socialist ideas are inserted which becomes a hindrance to understanding the capitalism which is the main theme.This should not be does in an introductory book. It hampers the flow of main idea.Apart from this everything is OK.

A thoroughly enjoyable romp through the history and concepts of capitalism. The idea of the 'spectacular' I found particularly interesting and I may read more on this. This the second in this series of books that I've read, the first being the introduction to Marxism and I think this dovetails really well with it. To quote Zappa, "So many books, so little time".

A brief history, that provides a useful insight to the history of the subject. The reader is invited to delve deeper into the various areas, and the further reading list is particularly useful in this regard. I read the kindle version so, a good experience for me.
