I have two large dogs and one of them had a leg operation. The male dog would attempt to jump on top of her to play & they would begin fighting. I have never seen them behave in such a manner but I did understand she was recovering and she would react towards him to leave her alone. This turned out to be a brawl between them way too frequent. It became so bad, I didn't know what else to do & keeping them crated isn't a life for a dog! I began doing research & read to purchase an air horn & it would make them STOP. Well, low & behold, YES it works! Now, all I do is grab it if I feel as though they are about to go at it & they both flee. Love my dogs to the moon & back but the fighting had to STOP. So far, so good! The fighting has stopped! I used it once to test it & then two other times! So, THANK YOU, for helping me resolve a very exhausting issue! I also read this is great for dog walkers. If you & your fur baby are approached by an aggressive dog, this will make them flee.

This thing is loud!We are using this differently from what you might think. We read about a career burglar who had broken into a home and the homeowner had a horn such as this, when the owner blasted him with the horn he fled. He was later caught and wrote a book of his experiences while in prison, he asked his colleagues in jail what they thought, 100% agreed with him, this would cause them to flee the scene.Now don't get me wrong, I'm not afraid to shoot an intruder and we have firearms around for that purpose.But all I really want is for him to leave; he can take the TV as he goes for that matter; according to my reading, that's what this does but he will not take the TV.Just a note to the guys: DO NOT sneak up behind your wife and set this thing off without her knowledge...the end result is probably not what you want in an otherwise happy home.Just sayin'...

I bought this as protection to scare off aggressive black bears as there are bears frequently around woods behind the house (and some not afraid of dogs or people anymore). Tested it one time to see how loud it is and scared myself, it was so loud (which is good!). I have only rated 4 stars because I haven't had to use it enough to determine how many blasts I can get out of the can, but I will be buying additional cans to put around the house to take outside with me just in case. Would definitely recommend!

We have a coyote problem in our residential bedroom community. They murdered two of our beloved pet Yorkies right from our yard in the past five years, one right in front of us. We were told by our police animal control officer to get an air horn to blow when we see them as the coyotes hate the sound and will eventually reroute to avoid our yard. We bought the smaller one first and got to use it on a roaming coyote once. That thing turned tail and ran the other way so it was effective. Now that we must take an air horn out whenever we let our dogs out, as well as stay near our dogs, we bought the larger ones to make sure we have them when we need them. They work well and served the function for which we bought them.

Sometimes my rescue dogs fight, and I was told to get an air horn. After months of sitting quietly on my shelf, I had to use it. First, it's not loud. I can yell louder than this. It says not to use near animals because it's so loud, but I'm standing there next to them, and it turns out that I can yell louder than this air horn, which they also ignore. Second, it leaks (which may explain the quietness). As I'm frantically trying to get them to stop fighting, I'm not paying attention to the fact that the chemicals inside are on my middle finger. I couldn't feel my finger for about 10 days, and now it seems that I have a scar. When you press a button on an air horn, the chemicals inside should not shoot back on the button. I'm extremely disappointed.

This was actually bought for home. We had an incident where my husband was upstairs and I was downstairs. He became incapacitated but, call as he might, I was not hearing him for quite a while. We decided we needed something that would make a big noise. I bought this to put in the bedroom within reach of the bed. This way it can be used to call the other person. It makes a loud enough noise that it should easily be heard. Of course, next time a situation comes up like that, the person will be in the living room without an air horn. I may end up buying more so there is one in each room.

Got this as a gift for someone who's on a boat a lot, my husband got the same idea. His was half the price and I can't return the one I bought so now I'm stuck with it. I know they work well and are handy but we have no real use for them so it's just frustrating the price is so inflated here. Definitely cheaper in most stores.

After reading the reviews I thought.....Hmmmmm this must be a very good horn so I purchased one. Well after it arrived and I tried it out I wasn't impressed. I could have bought a shoreline brand from wallworld for $16.37 plus tax. This horn is no better than an off the shelf horn from any discount or boating store!! Save your money unless you have no other option!!
