It's Empi
Great shifter and the quality you'd expect from Empi. Installed this in my '74 Super Beetle and it works great. Shifts are crisp. I also like the extra height of the shifter over stock as I don't feel like I need to lean forward to reach the shifter any longer. Would recommend this as a replacement for the stock Beetle shifter.

La mejora en el cambio de marchas es abismal. Las marchas entran mas suave y mas rapido. Al ser un poco mas larga la palanca la posición de manejo también mejora.

HUGE improvement
I installed this shifter into my 1974 VW Thing. The old shifter was sloppy and very hard to get in gear. This one is GREAT. Gears are exactly where they should be and easy to fine. The reverse lockout works perfectly too. A lot of guys run these and there is a reason for that. Its a great reasonable priced shifter.

Surprisingly good
Installed it last night and drove it all day on my 71 beetle. Quick and easy bolt on and go upgrade. The shifting is tight and the lock out out reverse gives me a bit more peace of mind. Being empi I expected a hassle and adjustments but they won this time.

Awesome Shifter!
I installed this shifter in my ‘70 Beetle and ‘74 Karmann Ghia, and I love it! It’s a significant upgrade to the stock shifters. Since this shifter is taller and angled back towards the driver, I find it easier to change gears. I also think shifting into reverse is more intuitive with the trigger instead of pushing down on the stick. My only criticism is the plastic cover box has nothing to secure it to the floor, so it bounces around a bit.

Failure in first 5 minutes!
I drive a lot, about every 5-6 years these things seem to wear out, this is my 4th shifter in this car in the last 15 years. But thisz time I got 5 minutes out of it and it broke... the reverse lockout plate broke right off. Complete failure! They don't make them like they used to, that's a fact.
