These receiver hitches have more towing capacity, use your standard 2" truck tow bar, and offer easier trailer hookup than a standard ball hitch. We use thick plate steel for the backbone of these hitches then powdercoat them black for an extremely durable finish. Installation is easy, they use existing bolt locations so there is no drilling or modifying your machine. All mounting hardware is included. Made in the USA! The 1186 fits standard 2000-2014 Sportsman 400/450/500/600/700/800 models with Independent rear suspension, except 08-10 Sportsman 300/400, Sportsman XP, and Touring / X2 models. May fit older year models of Sportsmans as well. NOTE: rear storage box must be removed on 2005 models.
