I'm giving this 4 stars based on the price; I paid less than $5 plus tax. This is exactly as pictured. Note that as per the ad, it does not come with a sheath. That is reasonable for the price. The blade has a near-mirror polish, with some wavey machine marks visible and some rub marks. If you run your finger along the stacked black, red, white and metal spacers on the handle, you can feel they are not quite aligned with each other or where they meet the handle. The seam where the handle slabs meet each other is a little rough. The real bone handles have deep jigging, with four brass pins holding them in place. The pins stick up slightly from the bone in a few spots and based on the spacing they do not go through the tang. Mine had a small crack in the bone handle, with the piece kind of set in place, so I think it was cracked and assembled like that any way. Speaking of which, it feels a little light on the handle end so I'm thinking it has a rat tail tang. The butt has a small round brass insert, which I'm guessing covers the tang. I put a magnet on the butt and it wouldn't stick to the silver part, that and the slightly flat luster makes me think it's aluminum, also explains why the handle end feels light. The magnet stuck to the brass inset in the end, so that confirms it is likely full tang behind the brass. The magnet doesn't stick to the brass guard. The blade edge is not sharp, wouldn't slice paper so it will need some TLC if you want a sharper edge. The edge grind is fairly even and uniform. Right out of the box it looks good enough for sitting on a desk as a letter opener. I doubt the bone handles would hold up to daily EDC or hard use. Given that it isn't fine enough to display, or sturdy enough to carry around, it's likely going to serve letter opener duty or desktop curiosity for me. Hard to see what purpose this knife would serve. If you want a knife that looks good at 10 feet but don't need it to work very hard, this is good buy.

I'm no expert but the handle appears to be plastic, not wood. I would certainly not trust it for self defense or any other heavy duty activity. It is a decent little sharp knife but even for the price point it should have a sheath of some sort. Throw away knives like this simply need sheaths, I know it wasn't in the item description and I never expected one however without it you can't safely gift it or sell it to someone else so you'll likely be stuck with an inferior product.

If you want cheap junk, this is the one to buy. Flaws and defects all over the blade. Will return

Real nice looking knife feels good in your hand the only bad thing is it does not come with a knife sheet you have to provide that yourself That's why I only got two stars
