A useful addition to the kitchen - in my case
The idea of this all-in-one cutting board intrigued me, but what finally convinced my to get it was the height. I bought theĀ Whitmor 6054-268 Supreme Bakers Rack, Chrome and Wood , which is a bit short for me. The extra few inches this board provides seemed like a good idea. The board does what it is supposed to do. The drawers open easily and are convenient for storing food and carrying it to the stove. The entire thing hasn't moved on me while I was cutting. Cleaning is simple enough (although I have not used the grater functionality yet. The cutting surface size is nice for the bakers rack. While I would like an extra couple of inches in each direction so I wouldn't have to spend quite so much effort moving cut food out of the way, that just wouldn't fit on on rack. The only downside for me is that the cutting surface is a hard plastic, which is not good for the edge of my knives. My solution to this is to use one of the thin flexible boards (picked up for free when I took a knife skills class) on top of this device. It is a simple solution that even makes it easier to clean up on days that I only use the cutting surface - and height - rather than the drawers. It just would have been nice if this extra step were not necessary.

Great but mixed review
As a device, the design is excellent. It washes well in the dish washer, is extraordinarily easy to use, and the two sides with handles and the useful grater and measuring/catchall compartments are simply fabulous. In fact, I gave it four stars even though it has a serious defect which means I don't dare give it to someone else. BUT it has an odd and persistent smell, musty, exactly like old books tucked away in a leaky attic and brought out of storage decades later. I have washed every part repeatedly, even on the sanitize cycle, and I cleaned the dishwasher with vinegar in between washings; I have washed it by hand as well. Even after weeks, the musty smell still is very evident. No one else reports this so far but me, and I am counting on the odor to fade enough so that I can keep it, since it is truly wonderful to use and very well manufactured and is a joy to have in the kitchen.

might be good for some, not for my needs
product seemed utilitarian enough, though it was not particularly of sturdy or rather rigid construction. I do not particularly care for non wooden cutting boards, so this really did not appeal to me esthetically. For my needs I found the cutting board surface too small and the plastic drawers rather inadequate for any volume of prepared foods. I did like the way the cutting board stored under the unit when not being used. I think for many people this would be a very useful and utilitarian unit. I elected to return it, even though I almost kept it due to the very reasonable price point.

Surprisingly good bargain on a useful, stable, and easy to clean gadget
I bought this when I was looking for a cheap, easy-to-clean, mid-size plastic cutting board in order to save space in my kitchen for when I didn't need my extra large bamboo cutting board. I was surprised to see this complex-looking gadget selling for the same price as the cheapest basic cutting boards. It seemed like more gadgets than I needed, but at that $13 I couldn't resist giving it a shot.I'm very happy with that decision. The whole thing is very well designed and thought out in order to save time and space. It seems reasonably high quality, the drawers move in and out easily, it's easy to clean, and it doesn't wobble.I had never had a cutting board with drawers before, but I find them to be very useful, either to sweep off the parts of the vegetables that I don't plan on using or to separate out different kinds of vegetables and transport them to the pan. I don't them every time, but when I do they are helpful and easy to clean. I haven't really used the cheese grater or measuring features (mainly because of my make-it-up-as-you-go cooking style), but they seem cleverly designed and potentially someday. More importantly, when I'm not using them, they stay completely out of the way, so I certainly don't mind having them there. The cutting board itself is just a simple hard plastic board. This isn't restaurant quality, but like I said, that wasn't really what I wanted or needed. I've had it for about six weeks, and there are already some scratches, but that doesn't bother me since I would have bought a cheap one anyway.Another big advantage to me is that it's so easy to clean, mainly because it's dishwasher safe, unlike my other, huge bamboo one that can only be washed by hand and takes up my entire sink or drying rack space. I've also started pairing this board with some really cheap thin, flexible plastic boards (the ones that you can buy a 3 pack of for-$5 on this site), which makes clean up even easier.Because clean up is so easy, this has become my go to cutting board. Ironically, that might be the only downside for me because now I ignore my larger cutting board even when I have big cutting jobs that really need the extra space. This sometimes leaves me constantly trying to clear space, which can be a big waste of time. Funny, considering that I probably wouldn't have bought this if it were any bigger.

OK cutting board, useful
I use this mostly without the bottom part but probably a few times a week need to do a more extensive food cutting project and use the drawers. I kind of wish I had gotten the one with the little bowls underneath because then I could use the bowls for serving food and could move food off the board into a bowl for eating. This one I do sometimes put food into the big drawer for garbage, and then put the cut up food into the small sections of the other drawer, but it would be nice if I could fit an eating bowl and small bowls for putting out on the table - serving bowls I guess - under the board as an option.
