ease of use for a first time user
The detailed directions made the whole process of making my own syrup easy. People who have tried my syrup ask what I added to the sap to make it taste so good. Nothing, just tap the trees, filter and boil the sap. This was my first attempt at making syrup and I'm hooked.

Buy metal spiles
The plastic spiles and hooks that come with it do not hold in the tree. Do yourself a favor and buy the metal ones, it will save you some headaches.

It has all the basics to start gathering sap for home made syrup. I purchased as a gift and I'm glad I did its easy to use and comes with plenty of reading material to understand how to tap a maple tree.

Very pleased
The items worked perfectly! I got three pints of maple syrup in 4 days! The buckets worked splendid and lids kept the sap clean. The book was very helpful in supplementing my knowledge.

Solid kit, maybe a little costly for the components but they are well constructed
High quality kit that comes with the basics to start tapping trees. The taps seem solid even though they are plastic. Buckets are high quality, good thickness and flexibility even in cold weather. Instructions and included book are good reading material that will get you excited to make syrup.I would suggest YouTubing some on how to build a boiler as that is the most “labor intensive” part.
