I actually use these for surf fishing at night . I tape it to the tip of the rod so I can see it bend in the dark .Every one of them lit up and stayed lit up for me .

Great glowsticks -- when they work. Unfortunately we experienced a roughly 20% dud rate; glowsticks that only glowed partially or not at all. One broke apart. The ones that worked were great though, bright and lasted a long time, well over a day. Kid loves them. I will try a different brand next time, though.
