TetraPond GreenFree UVC-5 Clarifier Replacement Bulb - Works well for us as part of indoor aquarium system - Recommended
Our family has had several freshwater fish tanks over the last 25 years and work hard to maintain a healthy environment for our sealife. The one challenge we face is that, since we like a house with lots of windows, at some time during the day sun will pass over the tank. While we have plenty of places for the fish to 'hide' if they desire to, we still have to deal with the resulting green algae from time-to-time. The TetraPond UVC-5 Clarifier ( TetraPond UVC-5 Clarifier ) has been our solution for at least the last 10 years, and we would recommend it highly. This bulb is TertraPond's replacement bulb for that unit, and it does its job well.If you would like to see a picture of the Clarifier underneath our tank, go back to the unit's main sales page, scroll down to where the "Most Helpful Customer Reviews" section starts, then look to the right of that area for the "Product Images From Customers" section. Took a shot to show how it is situated. We keep the flow rate of the pump connected to this light at a moderate rate, allowing time for the UV light to do its thing as the water passes by. As long as the UV light bulb is fresh, the rig works very well and it does not leak. Water feeds from the reservoir of our bio-ball based filtration system, and passes by this light on the way back up to the tank. We try to follow the TetraPond guidelines and replace the UV bulb once a year with their bulb. This might seem overkill for a 72 gallon bowfront tank, but our fish stay healthy and live long lives, while our water remains crystal clear and algae-free.If you are looking to do something similar to improve the look and health of your tank in a fairly low maintenance manner, give the TertraPond UVC-5 Clarifier a try and keep a spare bulb in stock as the time will come when you need it.Recommended. Go for it.

Works perfectly!
I couldnt understand why the pond had gon green, til i noticed the light was out. There are two sizes.. make sure you look at the size of your current bulb, and unplug everything while changing bulb to keep the insides dry. I wiped it all down with paper towels as well. Works perfectly

Kill algae in the water
I like it because it can kill algae in the water, which then makes my pond very clear. My pond is 180 gallons, so if your pond is bigger, you have to buy larger watt, not the same as my UV light, which uses only 5 watt.

Good replacement
I think all these uv lamps are the same with just Tetra, Fishmate, etc. stamped at the base. They all look identical and are made in China (probably at the same factory). Just buy the cheapest one listed. Used it on my Fishmate uv filter that I also purchased on Amazon.
