Best of the Best!
The Pyle Universal Device Stand is manufactured to be very sturdy, stable and light weight as well. Don't waste your time with the others, THIS is the one to buy you'll be happy you did.

Perfect for my purposes
I needed something that was going to hold the weight of a 27 inch monitor behind my music keyboard. I first tried having the built in music stand hold it, but it was too flimsy. Then I found this little table. It's perfect, and fits pretty snugly between the back of the keyboard and the wall. Because it's just a pole on a tripod with a surface on top, it is able to squeeze in where something with a wider middle section like a mini bookshelf would mean the entire keyboard would have to be pushed out into the room even more. It's pretty stable as well. To fit it in, I didn't even extend the tripod legs fully and it's on carpet. There is some wobble, but it's sturdy enough to use a surface for a mouse. At any rate, I'm not worried about it falling over at all. Great little table. It's pretty straightforward assembly as well, although with the way the surface attaches using 4 screws with washers, it'd be a real hassle to assemble and disassemble for gigging purposes. It is lightweight though, so if you had enough room, you could just toss it in your truck or van without taking it apart. Fortunately for me though, I don't need to take it anywhere.

Good value for the money, but look elsewhere for rock solid support.
It’s cheap, but does an adequate job of what it’s supposed to do. It’s easy to breakdown for transport too. The fact the the stability of the tabletop relies on four tension screws is a little annoying and could be a point of failure long term.

High quality, the platform is rock solid, and does not slip.
I had ordered a cheap stand online and had to return it. This one is very sturdy and well-made. It’s exactly what I’m looking for even though it’s a little more money it’s worth it. The platform is very secure when you lock it in place and it does not move unlike the cheaper models that I tried earlier

Perfect as a Laptop or Mixer stand but not recommended as a music stand.
As a extremely active musician, I'm using this high quality stand/desk/workstation as a laptop or a mixer stand and it is perfect for that. It's strong enough to hold a projector or a studio speaker too. It's very sturdy, compact and quick to setup. It is described well on the Amazon posting because this tray is pretty large. It could fit a large laptop (like 17") comfortablely. You could also fit a 24 channel unpowered mixer. This stand would NOT make a very good music stand since there is a very small lip all the way around. Sheet music, printed speeches or presentation notes would probably fall off if angled too sharply. I would say it's also not ideal as IPad stand if you need to rest it on a lip and angle it sharply as some musician might may require. Generally this stand is better used where it is flat or just slightly angled. NOTE: PYLE does not claim that it should be used for sheet music. This product is everything they claim and they are a company with integrity. I have purchased speaker stands from them in the past and they have excellent customer service.

Great Value - Hope the resting plates are sturdy enough
Full disclosure, I have only used these in rehearsal and not "in the field." The stands are well made, easy to adjust and assemble. The tops appear to be substantial, but are made from ABS plastic. I know I will need to be careful not to drop them on a hard surface since ABS does shatter relatively easily. That said, so far, so good. I will be using these in a show this week so that will be the true test. I ordered two, one for each side of the stage. The top plates have a raised edge that might prevent things from falling or accommodate a piece of felt or "mouse pad" material to help it serve as a small close up magic table. They fold up nicely and I can fit them into a checked luggage bag.

Don't bang it around to much and you should be fine.
This product seems to be well built with quality materials. I gave it a 3 star because the tray is plastic (detail not in the description that I recall) and the size is just a bit awkward. I got this to take into the field as a video producer, have a place to put certain gear. The table holds the items well and I have plenty of surface space for a laptop should I want to use if for that too. Assembly was easy enough, but you will need a Phillips screwdriver to complete the job. The base is metallic and the spread of the legs is enough to stand still, but I would use a sandbag if you are putting a $2000 laptop on it - it's not THAT sturdy. Because the tray is made of ABS plastic, I am not convinced this will hold up well over time by putting it in the trunk of my truck and or hauling it around. ABS tends to be brittle and can scratch easily. If you are leaving it alone in a music room, studio, etc, you should be fine. I was not convinced about the price until I got the unit, materials are of reasonable quality and I suppose the plastic tray does allow for lightweight. The tray has a rim so you won't have batteries, pens, or other round objects rolling off of it. It is on a single axis and can be tilted front or back, I suppose for some this will come in handy for books, sheets of music, but if you put a heavy object on there make you sure are tight on the screws and you place it in the MIDDLE. For laptops and computers it should do well.
