Exactly what I needed!
Bought this a few months ago and to be honest, for the price, my expectations weren't high. I though my dogs would easily tear through it, or that the plastic clip thingies would break but I have been pleasantly surprised. It has completely held up against my two little monsters and it stops them from pushing each other down the stairs or running down to bark whenever the doorbell rings. They're much safer now and it has saved me so much trouble and put my mind at ease. Very simple and quick to put together, but make sure you measure before you buy because it's one size and not adaptable. Very happy with this purchase.

Worst cheap item I’ve ever bought
I’ve never written a bad review on Amazon or anywhere to be fair. But this is such a monumental waste of money, please do avoid. The plugs and clips snapped in 2 hours after opening 3 times to confirm operation. Installed new plugs and used the 2 spare clips that come with it, and still broke. If you have a Pug it may hold up to the pressure he may accidentally give it. But my German Shepherd sniffs in its general direction and it somehow breaks.Terrible item, AVOID!

Works well for smaller dogs, ok for larger dogs.
Works ok for smaller dogs but easily pulled down by larger dogs. The plastic brackets that come with it are not very strong and break off easily.

Good value and stronger than it looks.
Easy to put up and stronger than it looks. Has stood up to two Chow Chow puppies and a Cairn terrier desperate to get through it.

Cheap and not very good
Ordered 3 of them and returning the lot. Very very cheaply made and not fit for purpose. The clips are very flimsy and I can tell they won't last two minutes. Also no way of adjusting the width for fit, which makes them impossible to use on my stairs. I would have kept them if they had a better way of attaching, but they don't. Extremely fiddly too.

Excellent for the price
Would struggle to keep a forceful dog out but for a blocking purpose is excellent, we have two dogs and it keeps them off our sofa after a long wet walk!! The lock does seem quite flimsy if I had to say anything against this product
