Incredible bulb and great vendor service. Photo is of this bulb beside florescent.
Much brighter than my old florescent bulbs. About ten minutes per fixture for me to remove ballast and rewire 120VAC one end and neutral on other using existing fixture wiring and center clip available from this vendor. Have purchased 12 & 25 of this item and 16 with the RD17D ends otherwise same bulb. A good idea to remove bulb from your fixtures and be sure which style end you have as there are several type ends(FA8, R17D, Bi-pin etc). These are an incredible improvement to my work area and this is my vendor of choice for for this item. Will order again.

Makes the HO lights look Yellow UPDATED!!!
This is such an easy conversion the hard part is taking the lights down and putting them back up. I just did 18 8ft lights and my shop doesn't look like an old dirty garage anymore. My old High output cool white tubes looked yellow next to the new LED lights. Getting rid of the start ballast which is HEAVY and now will not have to be replaced when they die everything is a plus. Will I save enough to pay for the cost I'm Not sure but like I said I won't be buying anymore ballasts or tubes so figure that and the drop in electricity it's a win for me1/7/20 UPDATE The lights are still working great but they produce a problem that no one has mentioned in the reviews. I have a Lift Master commercial door opener on my garage door and after about a month it decided to not respond to the clicker from outside. The service company has been out 5 times and tried everything they can to overcome this problem. Bottom line is the LED lights cause interference with the electronics of the opener. This is not an isolated problem it happens a lot and I'm surprised I didn't see anything on here about it.My unit is 8 years old and in great shape and they are saying my only hope is to BUY a NEW Commercial unit the uses the 3 TIER transmitter to overcome the interference along with 5 new clickers and key pad for about $1200. and he is giving me a deal due to not getting it fixed right away. So what I may have saved on electricity in the future just went out the window forever IF this fixes the problem? So if your thinking of converting you may want to do more research? Too late for me.

V shaped LED is the way to go
I had a few ballast that have failed in my shop so rather than replace them, I bought a single row LED locally and removed ballast and installed bulb. It was brighter, but was also very directional with dark spots. I also decided I wanted a little closer to daylight color which I couldn't find locally. So, I looked here on Amazon and I found the V Shaped bulbs in the next higher wattage than I was using. After removing the ballasts in all 6 dual light 8' fixtures, I put these in and flipped the breaker back on. Wow... While working inside a vehicle or under a vehicle there are shadows, the reflected light is enough for all but the most detailed work. The nice thing too is with these being a single pin, they can be rotated slightly to focus more in one spot if needed.Time will tell with their longevity, but for now, I am very pleased. Also, I will say there is a slight delay turning them on, just a little more than the fluorescent bulbs had. Not detrimental to me for the purpose, but I thought I would mention it in case you need a more instant-on.

Very Bright Leds
These lights are perfect for my workshop and very easy to install. As far as installation, the package shows a small picture of how to install, however, it may not be enough information for the beginner. It's quite simple though. Once you remove the old bulbs and the cover you just have to disconnect the ballast wiring from both ends. There should be two wires on one end and two wires on the other. On mine there's a black and white on one end and a blue and red on the other. My wires were long enough so I only took the black wire and twisted it to the red. Then I took the white wire and twisted it to the blue. The important part is that no matter what your color wires are is that you connect one end from the sockets to the other. Once you do that you have to tuck everything inside the housing with the cover and you are done. Use wire nuts or wrap the connections with electrical tape. Most likely anyone who attempts this will have the experience of working with these type of connections. I have no idea how long these bulbs will last and that remains to be seen but the fact of not having to buy a ballast when they blow saves me about 80 bucks with just that alone. If the lights last two years, that would be great.

One of the few LED conversions for 8' tubes
i looked all over for T8 LED single pin tubes. Most LED tubes are 4'. The conversion process is the same, cut the ballast out, connect one end of the tube to line and the other end of the tube to neutral.Several people mentioned in their reviews the need for additional support clips. I didn't experience much sagging that would concern me. I bought the clips, but they remain in a drawer unused. They also looked very small compare to the tube diameter. You also need to supply your own mounting screws. As always, if you are not comfortable working with 120 volts AC, these tubes are not for you. Doing the conversion improperly and damage the tubes, cause a fire or KILL you. If you are not comfortable working with 120 volts AC, consult an electrician first.

Seriously Recommend to Go Full LED...
I have a 5000 sq ft race shop and have florescent bulbs installed. After replacing bulbs and ballast for last 10 yrs, I took the drop and order these LED lights. OMG I would recommend the only way to go to get a shop bright. The 2 row Leds are amazing and will be buying more to finish up my whole shop in the near future. I had one bulb that had slight bend in the housing and contacted seller. With in short period i was refunded the price of the bulb and will be buying more soon.
